Upcycled Rustic Metal Heart wall decor

Repurpose with Purpose!

Rustic Metal Heart

Bittersweet Springs

The metal heart is made from old barn roofing that has been repurposed from a small business in Canby, OR called Bittersweet Springs. Each item they make comes from different buildings, and the hearts were from two 100-year-old barns that were torn down on a farm in Northwest Oregon. They obtained the rusted metal roofing to upcycle and by turning into these beautiful decor pieces it feels like the history of those family farms can live on. Each heart is cut freestyle with a plasma cutter so no two are exactly the same shape.

The goal with all of their products at Bittersweet Springs is to repurpose materials that would otherwise be discarded. Since the beginning of their marriage forty years ago, husband and wife, Church and Heather, have worked together in handmade businesses to provide beautiful products for people’s homes. Just as the Lord makes all things beautiful in His time, so do they with their reclaiming and repurposing work.

— “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11) —
