Paper-Beaded Cross Ornament

Ornaments 4 Orphans

This year’s beautiful ornament comes from our new friends at Ornaments 4 Orphans! In your Faithbox you’ll find a paper bead ornament cross that is handmade exclusively for Ornaments 4 Orphans by artisans in Uganda, East Africa. Colorful beads are rolled from strips of recycled paper, turning something ordinary into something extraordinary! This special Cross Ornament can hold a prominent place on your Christmas tree or even your keychain.

Ornaments 4 Orphans is a fair trade, social business selling handmade products purchased fairly in developing countries. Founders, Jamie and Scott, first visited Uganda on a college mission trip and while there, they were struck by the poverty, lack of development and the people who just wanted a chance to work and provide for their families. After returning home to the United States, Jamie and Scott started Ornaments 4 Orphans out of their love for Christmas and their passion for helping others as a means to provide work and support artisans.

Today, Ornaments 4 Orphans works with over 10 artisan groups in over 20 communities in Uganda, Kenya, Peru and Nepal. Through their work, Ornaments 4 Orphans reach 300 families and 1000 children and relatives. All proceeds are invested back into the communities where they work to provide jobs, prevent orphans, and keep families with vulnerable children. They also give back through education scholarships and community development.
