Butterfly Hanging Bell by Matr Boomie

$19.99

Bell making is a traditional art in northwest India. These bells were traditionally created as cow bells for each farmer to have specifically tuned bells in order to identify their cattle. This region is a dry desert which does not offer many employment opportunities. Now, these bells are used for décor, and the crafting of them creates employment for these rural artisans. The bell was created with upcycled metal scraps, and the final bells are hand tuned to perfection.

For over 15 years, Matr Boomie has partnered with 1,000+ artisans across the nation of India, over 50% of whom are women + ethnic or religious minorities. Each artisan gets paid 25% over market wages and 15% of the total revenue is re-invested into artisan communities. Matr Boomie has a commitment to honor the planet by using only sustainable materials and processes. The organization producing and distributing these bells is Vishwakarma, based in northwest India. Their mission is to create sustainable employment for rural artisans. This Faithbox order will create employment for about 7 to 10 artisans for 60 days.

“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” – Isaiah 58:11
